Teens in AI Founder, Elena Sinel, was invited to meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to discuss the future of AI Education

 

On 20 August 2024, the Day of an Entrepreneur in Uzbekistan, the vibrant city of Nukus hosted an open dialogue between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and an assembly of entrepreneurs.

This significant event brought together representatives from diverse sectors, including manufacturing, services, and export enterprises, as well as large companies backed by foreign investments. Over 300 participants gathered at the central studio in Nukus, with an additional 2,200 entrepreneurial entities joining from regional studios across the provinces and Tashkent. These entities collectively created nearly 145,000 jobs, exported products worth $1 billion in 2023, and contributed over 5 trillion soums in taxes to the state budget.

In his address, President Mirziyoyev encouraged the participants, stating, “Never tire of creating new things, of taking initiative. I am always ready to support you and create even more favourable conditions!” His words resonated deeply with the entrepreneurs, igniting a renewed sense of purpose and determination to drive innovation and growth within Uzbekistan.

Among the distinguished guests was Elena Sinel, the founder of Teens in AI, an initiative dedicated to empowering young people with skills in artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, and cybersecurity. Elena, an Uzbek native, has made a significant impact globally through her work, inspiring the next generation to harness the power of technology for social good. Her attendance at the event was not only a professional commitment but a deeply personal one.

Elena Sinel, Founder and CEO of Teens in AI added: “Returning to Uzbekistan and having the opportunity to share my work with the President and my fellow countrymen is incredibly meaningful to me. As an Uzbek, I feel a profound sense of pride and responsibility to give back to my country. I am immensely proud of the achievements of our representatives from around the world, and I was deeply impressed by their innovative ideas and contributions. This event has reaffirmed my belief in the potential of Uzbekistan’s youth to lead in the fields of AI, data science, and technology“.

During the dialogue, Elena highlighted the importance of integrating ethical AI, data science, robotics, and cybersecurity into the education system. She emphasised that these skills are not only crucial for the future workforce but also for fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young people. Her message was clear: empowering the youth with these skills is essential for the sustainable development of our global community.

The event also saw the participation of approximately 40 Uzbek entrepreneurs who have established successful businesses abroad, from countries as diverse as the United States, Japan, Germany, and Canada. These individuals, who have been making significant contributions to their respective industries while promoting Uzbekistan’s name on the global stage, shared their insights, ideas, and proposals for addressing pressing issues within the country.

As the dialogue concluded, there was a palpable sense of optimism and unity among the participants. The collective exchange of ideas and experiences highlighted the incredible potential of Uzbekistan’s entrepreneurs, both at home and abroad, to drive the nation’s progress.

For Elena Sinel, this event was more than just an opportunity to discuss the future of AI in Uzbekistan; it was a chance to reconnect with her roots and contribute to the growth and development of her homeland.
