Teens in AI, supported by Beiersdorf, successfully hosted a hackathon in Hamburg, Germany on 10 and 11 June 2023. The hackathon aimed to inspire and equip participating young people with valuable tech skills.
This event brought together young people from underserved communities, aged 12 to 18, providing them with an inspiring platform to showcase their passion for technology – all in the hope of bridging the tech divide and empowering the next generation of ethical AI researchers, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
We’re delighted to announce the winners of the Hamburg hackathon, team 🏆SAFEZONE🏆. Their dedication to creating an ethical tech and AI solution that addressed issues of diversity and inclusivity is a true testament to the real-life applications required in the field.

About the Teens in AI and Beiersdorf Partnership
Recognising the importance of equipping young people with the skills they need to succeed in tomorrow’s world, the partnership between Teens in AI and Beiersdorf aims to provide these skills to those who may not have the opportunity otherwise. By making the world of responsible AI and technology more accessible, young people from under-resourced communities can be inspired and empowered to shape their dreams and build a better future for themselves and their communities. Teens in AI and Beiersdorf have joined forces to create a tangible impact by organising a series of nine in-person hackathons across Beiersdorf Group’s European locations.
