Microsoft: Alice Envisions the Future
Bridging the digital gender divide
Microsoft and Teens in AI partnered to bring to life the #GirlsInAI global series in an effort to raise awareness of and work towards increasing diversity and inclusion in the fields of Artificial Intelligence. The hackathon programmes run across various regions aimed to bridge the gender gap of female representation in the Computer Science field as well by providing teens with the opportunity to learn the core skills required for future careers in tech.
Working together for change
How we made it happen
Over the course of 2-day long hackathons, teens worked on projects to improve four UN Sustainable Development Goals: Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Reduced Inequalities through a multitude of challenges. This hands-on experience was coupled with mentorship provided by Microsoft employees who guided the teens in aspects such as programming, business, design thinking and AI ethics.
