Teens in AI alum, Koza Kurumlu, 17, is cofounder of UK-based Eleos AI, a start-up that allows users to navigate the safest route to get around cities, by using AI to crunch publicly available data like police reports. Koza’s journey into AI started as a 13 year old joining one of Teens in AI’s programmes.

In his interview with Tim Smith, News Editor at Sifted in March 2024, he says that “people are starting to think about whether their future career will be affected by AI. It’s not fear, it’s more consideration”. He believes that “learning code, learning AI … will be as important as knowing English and Excel back in the day. I think it’s going to be critical to know Python”.

Teens in AI is incredibly proud of Koza and his cofounders for developing an app that sets a precedent for ethical and values-based solutions that support people and communities. Something that is critical in today’s world, and very much aligned with Teens in AI’s ethos and values.

When you’re doing a project not for yourself, but for others as well, and you see the impact that it can create, it motivates you.” – Koza Kurumlu

Koza and his two cofounders started working on Eleos in early 2024, and are scheduled to launch on app stores soon, with the plan being to enter hackathon cash competitions to fund early development.

Elena Sinel and the team at Teens in AI wish Koza and his cofounders every success with the launch!
