Elena Sinel, Founder and CEO of Teens in AI, was joined by three of Teens in AI’s Paris-based alumni for this unique opportunity. Together, they not only gained insights into ground-breaking AI research projects witnessing first-hand how AI is shaping the future for scientific discovery and social impact, but also had the chance to interview Google Research expert, Abdoulaye Diack, deepening their understanding of AI’s real-world applications.

Abdoulaye Diack: Research Program Manager at Google Research
As a programmer at Google Research, he collaborates with talented researchers and engineers to bridge cuing-edge AI with real-world solutions. Previously, he was part of the Google Brain team, leading an AI residency program.
Abdoulaye brings 20+ years of experience in engineering and management, with expertise across AI/ML, ntech, and data solutions. He’s passionate about leveraging technology to solve meaningful problems and contribute to Africa’s growing tech ecosystem. A core focus of his work has been the Open Buildings project, a pioneering AI initiative that has revolutionized mapping in underrepresented regions by mapping over 1.8 billion buildings across the Global South.
